The Haircut

Yesterday was our preparation day and we both needed haircuts. The couple that we replaced told us about a place called Real that had a salon. They had an English speaker so we decided to try it. Elder Hadley's hair is okay but mine is so short I may not have to cut it again until I return to Utah. I have never had it this short. I thought I explained to her that I like it longer on top and that all I needed was a trim around the back of my neck and over the ears. When I saw the hair falling on the cape on my lap it was then too late. I came home and tried to make it better but no amount of hair product would help the situation. The only thing about hair is that it will grow. I am praying for warmer weather as my head now has no hair. I think I should pray about who should touch my hair next time.

We had a good visit with our neighbor down the street. Her name is Ute and she like to speak English. We talked a little about religion and we will visit her again. She knows a little about the church and is open for talking. This makes it easier in approach to telling her about Jesus Christ. We (Sister Hadley) then went to relief society for the ward. It was great. They presented the group activities they have planned for this year and then asked for suggestions from the sisters for things they want to do. They have a dance group, a piano group, a block flute group, a culture group, a computer group that meet regularly through the year. They will add more following the suggestions from last night. We then had a choice of 3 area where we could attend a small presentation. We could choose between making photo shows on the computer, creative time saving ideas, healthy food choices. I chose the photo show and the creative time saving. I was amazed. Luckily I had an English speaker close by during these. I will join the piano group. They meet at the church and a sister brings piano duets and we all play. There are 4 pianos in the church. They had prepared a wonderful refreshment but it was 9 pm and the sister missionaries needed to be home. Transfers are today and they still had not packed. They should be in their apartment by 9 pm each night. We took them home and then headed to our apartment.

The best thing about today is that we have sunshine. I hope it shines the whole day because it has been gray long enough. We have the stake youth council meeting tonight with both councils, the stake president, high councilors and JAE center couples. This is where the planning is completed and any business that needs taking care of is done. The president of the youth council conducts this meeting. We have a new high councilor over our center so he will be there also. This will be our first Birat This is the together council for all the stake young single adults. I hope that made sense but that is the translation from Elder Hadley. This is just another new thing to learn.
